The study of mathematics is mandatory from Kindergarten to Year 10.
By studying mathematics, students learn to work mathematically – developing fluency, understanding, problem-solving, reasoning and communication skills.
The syllabus consists of the following strands:
- number and algebra
- measurement and space
- statistics and probability.
Through the implementation of current, evidence-based mathematics units, Dural Public School:
- makes connections within and between mathematical concepts including making connections to real-life experiences
- highlights and reinforces the role of working mathematically and student reasoning
- includes rich mathematical tasks, resources and opportunities for assessment and differentiation.
