Visual arts program

Visual Arts offer students opportunities for personal expression, enjoyment, creative action, imagination, emotional response, aesthetic pleasure and the creation of shared meanings.

At Dural Public School we have a high profile Visual Arts program where children are encouraged to experiment with a variety of media and make artistic choices in a happy and encouraging learning environment. The focus of the program is individual learning and experiences which are sequenced to develop students' knowledge and understanding.

All children from Kindergarten to Year 6 have an 80 minute session of Visual Arts once a week. In this time they are not only involved in a skill based learning program but also encouraged to discuss artists and interpret their artworks.

Children are involved in activities such as painting, drawing, pottery, silk screening and plaster just to name a few.

Our Visual Arts room is very well resourced and comes with an interactive whiteboard, two pottery wheels and a kiln.
