Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

Our Parents and Citizens’ Association (P&C) is made up of parents and carers, teachers and community members. The P&C meets regularly to contribute to decision-making, developing policies and management plans as well as fundraising. Our parents & citizens' association (P&C) brings the school community together. Parents, teachers and community members can help meet the needs of the school community and contribute to decisions about the school.

The P&C also raises funds that help finance improvements to our school and provide additional resources.

The Dural P&C is a tremendously successful organisation and is very well supported by the parent body of Dural as well as Dural Public School. The P&C is committed to ensuring that the best possible learning environment is created for all the students.

The P&C welcome all members of the school community to attend meetings held in the school staffroom on the 3rd Monday of every month commencing at 7.30pm.

Sub Committees

There are many sub committees who look after various projects within the school. They are:

Grounds Maintenance

Our Grounds Maintenance Committee runs "Working Bees" once each term, held on a Sunday. These working bees help keep our school grounds looking exceptional and ensure outdoor spaces remain functional and attractive for all students.

Parents Group

This vibrant group is responsible for planning and running a range of fun and engaging events, including:

These activities not only build community spirit but are also important fundraisers for the school.

Uniform Shop

The Uniform Shop provides everything students need for their school uniforms and accessories.

Canteen

Our school canteen is open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, offering a healthy menu that supports smart food choices. The canteen is proudly operated with the help of parent volunteers.

Outside of the education system, free telephone counselling services are available to support families who may be going through a difficult time.

Interpreting and translations

We will help you communicate with our school. If you’d like an interpreter for a school meeting, let us know and we will arrange one, if available.

If you don’t speak or understand English well and want to contact us, call TIS National on 131 450 and ask for an interpreter in your language. The operator will call the school and get an interpreter to help. This service is free.

For more information,  listen in your language.

Visit the department’s  translated documents  section for important information that’s relevant for your child’s education in many languages.
