High school transition program
At Dural Public School, we recognise that moving from primary to high school is a significant milestone in every student’s life. To support our Year 6 students in navigating this important transition with confidence and resilience, we run a comprehensive Transition Unit designed to prepare them socially, emotionally, and academically for the changes ahead.

Partnerships and communication with high schools
To ensure a seamless transition, Dural Public School maintains strong partnerships with our local and selective high schools. We have a structured system to share detailed student information with high schools, ensuring they are well-informed about our students’ strengths and needs before Year 7 begins.
We also hold regular meetings with high school staff to discuss curriculum alignment and student support strategies. Our students participate in virtual panels and Zoom sessions with representatives from high schools, allowing them to ask questions and hear firsthand about the high school environment. Additionally, high school teachers and students visit our school to engage with our Year 6 students, providing valuable insights and fostering connections.
