Year 2 will be going on an excursion to the Australian Muesum and will participate in a lesson on Dinosaurs. This excursion will complement our science unit this term titled "Dinosaurs and More", which has a focus on prehistoric animals.
Children need to be at school at 9:00am sharp. The bus will leave at 9:15am and we will not be able to wait for late students.
Students will return to school at approximately 3pm.
Children need to wear full school uniform. They will need recess, lunch, a drink bottle and a hat. Please pack everything in a small excursion bag.
Throughout the excursion, students will be involved in activities with a museum educator where they will become paleontologists as they learn about how we know dinosaurs once roamed the planet. They will investigate various fossils and discover some of the differences between carnivorous and herbivorous dinosaurs. Students will also have the opportunity to explore other parts of the museum. At the conclusion of our excursion we will have lunch in the Botanical Gardens before heading back to school.
