Our policies and reports

Our policies and reports help families understand how our school works. Our annual report and school plan show what we’ve done and how we’re improving each year.  Our policies address attendance, absences, behaviour, uniform and how we respond to your concerns.

Annual school report

Each year, we share our progress in the annual school report. It gives families a clear picture of how our school is performing and how we’re supporting every student’s success. The report reflects our commitment to openness, accountability and continuous improvement.

Our school excellence plan (SEP) is a working document that shows our priorities in learning, teaching and leading. It explains our focus areas for improvement and how we plan to get there. We write our SEP with help from our school community so it reflects our shared priorities.

School behaviour support and management plan

Our school has a school behaviour support and management plan (SBSMP). The SBSMP helps us create a safe, respectful and supportive learning environment for all students. It sets clear expectations for student behaviour. This includes how we respond to bullying and cyberbullying. We work together with our school community to shape the plan and review it each year.

Behaviour expectations for students

Dural Public School is dedicated to explicitly teaching and modelling positive behaviour while supporting all students to engage with their learning. We strive to create a healthy, safe, ordered, supportive, and caring environment that fosters effective teaching and learning for both students and staff. Our goal is to help students become self-directed, lifelong learners who can build a positive future for themselves and the wider community. To achieve this, we establish clear guidelines and expectations regarding rights, responsibilities, and behaviours that are understood by all community members. We believe that our school is a place where each student can learn and grow in confidence.

Our goal is to inspire every child to engage positively within the school community and beyond. We focus on promoting excellence, opportunity, and success for every student, every day. We are committed to fostering safe, respectful learners within a caring learning community.

High expectations for student behaviour are established and maintained through effective role modelling, explicit teaching, and planned responses.

To achieve our mission, we prioritise key programs valued by both staff and the school community, including:

Positive Behaviour for Learning: These programs emphasise social and emotional learning, supporting good mental health, positive relationships, and bullying prevention.

At Dural Public School, we reject all forms of bullying, including cyberbullying, by committing to a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning community that promotes student wellbeing. Our staff are dedicated to implementing evidence-based approaches and strategies that create a positive climate where bullying is less likely to occur.

All members of the school community actively contribute to building a welcoming school culture that values diversity and fosters positive relationships. A key component of this supportive culture is developing respectful relationships and promoting the understanding that bullying is unacceptable in both online and offline environments. To ensure a safe environment, there are clear consequences for any bullying behaviour. These consequences are communicated to all students and are designed to address the behaviour, support the victim, and encourage reflection and growth in the perpetrator. Our goal is to create a culture of accountability, where every student understands the importance of treating others with respect and the impact of their actions. School staff actively address instances of bullying behaviour.

Partnership with Parents and Carers:

Dural Public School collaborates with parents and carers to establish expectations for engagement in developing and implementing student behaviour management and anti-bullying strategies by:

School uniform policy

At Dural Public School, we uphold a strong commitment to our uniform expectations, which reflect the values of our community and promote a sense of belonging. All students are required to wear the designated school uniform, which includes the full winter or summer uniform and sports uniform. Wearing the uniform fosters school pride, helps reduce distractions, and encourages a focus on learning. We appreciate the support of parents and carers in ensuring that students adhere to these guidelines, creating a positive and unified school environment for everyone. Uniforms can be ordered through the Dural Public School Uniform Shop.
